Over the next three days, 17 student journalists from California and one from South Carolina will work 12-hour days to bring you news of AEJMC’s 89th annual convention.

Because cyberspace is infinite and newsprint is not, we will make ample use of the Web. In addition to daily printed coverage, there will be podcasts, slideshows and multimedia stories at http://xpress.sfsu.edu/aejmcreporter/.

You can find what my online students would call “the dead-tree edition” at the AEJMC registration desk on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Coverage of Saturday sessions will be published on the Web site.

Our newsroom is in Room 202 of the San Francisco State University Downtown Center, located at 425 Market St. To get there, proceed to Market Street, turn right, walk 10 minutes toward the San Francisco bay, and turn right on Fremont Street.

We are grateful to the faculty who have volunteered to assist students in production of the paper and would welcome more. The best times to visit are the witching hours before the 9:30 p.m. printers’ deadline. If you have time, come by the SFSU Downtown Center after dinner for an exercise in controlled chaos.
