While everybody else prepared for their finals by sweating it out in the library, the students in dance 461, choreography and production, prepared for theirs by sweating it out on the stage of McKenna Theatre.
On December 2nd and 3rd, they will present their final in the form of a dance showcase entitled "New Moves: Gravity is Overrated."
Lacy Yell, choreographer of the piece "Most likely change said that show has pieces that could appeal to all different types of people.
"This show has a lot of variety from tap to jazz to hip-hop to Indian to far-out modern to lyrical to everything," She said.
Dance major Martha Lorena Zepeda, who choreographed the piece "Blessed Uprisin'" said the class encompasses everything that goes into producing a show.
"Going to choreography class, technique classes and seeing the whole process," She said, "Costumes, lighting, choreographing, spacing rehearsals, the whole rehearsal times putting together audition notices."
But, the main emphasis of he show is on the dancing and is packed with many different pieces.
"My piece is mostly modern mixed with pedestrian and theater," Dance major marissa Clark said, "It's just kind of about waiting for something that can never come like the 29 bus. It's about making people feel uplifted on the inside."
They've all worked very hard and agree that they can't wait to get it over with.
"I'll be glad when it's over," Clark said, "It'll be nice to see my own work on stage and just be able to reflect on the process and how I grew as a choreographer; as a person; as a dancer."
