A big rig and a car carrying several passengers were involved in an accident on 19th Avenue this afternoon, causing the car to spin out in the heavy rain, according to officers and other witnesses.
The incident is still under investigation, but those involved in the accident reported no injuries.
Police blocked one lane of traffic for several minutes while the accident was cleared. University Police Officer D. Smith, who responded to the accident, said that it was a relatively minor incident.
The truck driver, who refused to give his name, said that his vehicle contacted the car while he was changing lanes.
"There are a lot of blind spots on that side," the driver said.
"The car spun out," said car passenger, Alex Garcias, who helped the other passengers, the driver and responding officers to push the car out of the lane.
