As we remember Kevin Costello, who died Tuesday from injuries sustained on a hike in the Marin Headlands, we must remember how fleeting life can be and the need to live every moment to the fullest.

Many who spoke at his memorial Tuesday night said they did not know Kevin Costello but his death made them realize the importance of acknowledging and appreciating those around them.

We all know how busy and stressful life can be, but it’s these moments that force us to stop, breathe and take time out of each day for ourselves and the ones we love.
