Mrs. President for 2008
A Bush win would assure Hillary the Oval Office

With the presidential race up for grabs, many people are looking towards November with a sense of desperation.

Democrats are working overtime to put John Kerry in the White House, and Republicans are doing and saying anything to keep George W. Bush right where he is.

Well, this Democrat would not mind if the Republicans had their way. This is not heresy I speak, and no, I’m not joking.

Bush re-elected means one important thing to me: Hillary in ’08.

Of course I don’t want to see George Bush win this election, but honestly, there is a good chance he will. If he does win, I’m not fleeing the country or protesting or even complaining, because I know that Mrs. President would only be four short years away.

Frankly, I have not been impressed by John Kerry. Despite his good showing in the presidential debates and his “last hope for America” attitude, he does not inspire me the way my parents were inspired by John F. Kennedy or my grandparents by Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Hillary Clinton does. She is a strong person with convictions and a phenomenal work ethic. We could have the charisma that middle America sees in Bush with the political agenda of Kerry all in one person.

I’ve heard people say that America is not ready for a woman in the White House, but this is no ordinary woman. Clinton is smarter than most men in government today and people respect her for her determination and devotion to helping make America better.

We, as Americans, should get out of the Dark Ages and realize that female leaders can get the job done. In Hillary we can have an Indira Gandhi of the West, a Margaret Thatcher for the new millennium.

I am not saying go out and vote for George Bush or even that Kerry would make a bad president.

I just think that if, heaven forbid, Bush wins in November, we should not be discouraged or disappointed. We should start planning for the future and be consoled in the possibility that the United States may finally reach its full potential and elect a woman president.
