Former supervisor ready for the big time

Always a candidate but never the president, Ralph Nader has tapped local boy Matt Gonzalez to be his running mate.

The reaction to Nader’s latest candidacy makes Democrats froth at the mouth and howl about how Nader gave the 2000 election to George W. Bush.

As TIME magazine columnist Joel Stein said, the Republicans were stuck with Bush because of Nader.

Since Nader has a very miniscule chance of actually winning the White House, perhaps Gonzalez is looking at this opportunity to boost his name nationally.

Since losing to Mayor Gavin Newsom, Gonzalez has kept a very low profile.

Now suddenly he is Nader’s second banana in attempt to show the current election system is unfair and biased against third party candidates.

Use this candidacy to boost your credentials and profile, Mr. Gonzalez, just realize that if Nader is accused of stealing votes away from the Democratic candidate, be prepared to be vilified with Nader.
