SF Icon Thrives on Selling Tamales

"Tamales, Tamales," she says as she passes through crowds of drunken weekend warriors and happy hour bar patrons. Most of whom know her only as "The Tamale lady."
But Virginia Ramos, San Francisco's infamous "Tamale Lady," never came to the United States just to sell tamales. She just wanted a way to put her kids through school.
