Richmond's Jumpin' Divas is one of two known California double dutch teams to compete against the East Coast, where the sport is more prominent. Smaller and less experienced teams are created when older girls grow out of the sport or move too far away to commute back to Richmond for practice. It's difficult for the Jumpin' Divas to compete closer to home and limits opportunities such as travelling and meeting new people because double dutch as sport is dying out in California.
