Vegetarians celebrate meat-less lifestyle

On March 22, The San Francisco Vegetarian Society sponsored a "Meat Out Celebration" at the First Unitarian Universalist Center in San Francisco. The four-hour event featured numerous tips on food, health and wellness.

The theme this year was "Eating Green: Healthy for the Environment and Healthy For You". The celebration featured a cooking demo with Miyoko Schinner, author of the cookbook "The New Now and Zen Epicure: Gourmet Vegan Recipes for the Enlightened Palate", talks with registered dieticians and a vegetarian lunch for all.
