SKINS Pow Wow sheds light on native issues

Native Americans have always had a strong heritage, from their tribal dancing to their spiritual songs. At SF State the Student Kouncil of Intertribal Nations and Native American Aids Project presented the 33rd Annual SFSU Pow Wow. Nadia Moreira, who is an SFSU student and a member of the organization SKINS explains what the Pow Wow is about and how Aids has effected the Native American community. On March 22, 2008 on SFSU campus in the Gym the 33rd Annual SFSU Pow Wow was held, it joined people together in dancing, visiting, renewing old friendships and making new ones. “The Pow Wow is cultural, political, and a social event that is a gathering of Native Americans coming together showing history, pride, and identity,” Moreira said.
