Delta farmers, agriculture industry at odds over water
Parched grass blades wave alongside the river. Bald rocks dot the sides of the levee. A hot wind rushes through a cornfield. The land is still, and ominously dry. In the South Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, an abundant water supply is central to the farming community. Undocumented immigrants living in fear of 'la migra'
Brenda Dominguez, 26, is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who came to San Francisco two years ago because she heard it was a “sanctuary city.” Sanctuary cities accept and provide services to immigrants regardless of their legal status.
