MY FIRST DAYY IN BAMMMAAAA!

On June 15th, I first arrived at SFSU to experience my first BAMMA adventure. At first, I was scared because I knew there was a lot work to be done and to be learned during my BAMMA experience. During my first experience in BAMMA during the first 24 hours, the two events that stand out to me the most was learning to adapt to living at a dorm far away from home, and learning the starting basics on becoming a successful journalist.

When I first arrived into my dorm, I met my roommate named Yaya. Once we met, she had a smile on her face and we shook hands. Immediately, she made me feel really comfortable. Yaya’s friendliness erased my stress from being nervous on living with a stranger and surprisingly, we had a lot of things in common and talked until 11:30. The memory that I have of her the most is when she laughed non-stop for 5 minutes over nothing. LOL!!! I find Yaya extremely funny!

The second day of my BAMMA experience, our BAMMA group went into the Humanities building to learn the basic skills on being a good journalist. In the morning, we learned that whomever we interview we have to ask them to spell out their own name in order for us to not make a mistake. Towards the middle of the day, I learned audio sounds, and later I messed with the camera….HAHAHHA!! I remember trying to capture Monica and one of the stuff jumping in air and dancing…. Now that was pretty cool! :] Towards the end of the day, I learned about videotaping and then we had dinner. And now, I’m doing this!

So far, I find BAMMA to be very fun and educational! I can’t wait for tomorrow at City Hall for the same-sex Marriage! :]
