The bass of the music vibrated the floor of El Patio restaurant, which overflowed with students dancing their hearts out to the hip-hop, merengue, cumbia and salsa music spun by DJs late into this festive Friday evening in the Mission district. It is produced by students of San Francisco State University's Journalism Department and students from two of the Center for Integration and Improvement of Journalism's youth programs: Prime Movers and the Bay Area Multicultural Media Academy.
