Airsoft is a sport which is most popular in Japan who ban real guns and supplement the gun enthusiastic with plastic BB’s. Airsoft guns and the sport itself is an expensive hobby. Airsoft guns simulate real military weapons which can cost as much as $2300.

Is San Francisco a Poor-Friendly City?

The wind blows through untrimmed eucalyptus trees that hang over the cream and blue public housing units. A young black man in a white, black and red T-shirt that reads “Stop Snitchin! Snitches Get Stitches” strolls back and forth in front. Cans, plastic bags and bits of paper rustle around the barren dirt and weed-filled lawn that shines like diamonds from scattered shards of glass.

Senior Day Fosters Higher Aspirations

Even an error couldn’t stop the SF State Gators softball team. That’s how good their offense was over the weekend as they swept a doubleheader from the visiting Sonoma State Seawolves (16-36-1, 10-17 CCAA), 5-0 and 8-4. The twin wins capped another stellar season on Senior Day, and now the team can look forward to the NCAA Division II West Regionals.

Cruising in the Open Air

Whether they’re popping wheelies on the street or gassing up at the nearby Chevron, you can’t escape the presence of motorcycle riders. SF State’s motorcycle community is apparent by the many students walking around campus with books in one hand and a helmet in the other, and the dozens of motorcycles lined up on 19th and Holloway.

From Gucci to Target the Traditional Ballet Shoe Goes Fashion Forward

In silver sequins, metallic gold and floral tapestry, ballet slippers are pirouetting their way into mainstream fashion across the globe. Traditionally, these shoes have been worn while demonstrating an arabesque, but today they are even acceptable worn with jeans. Many SF State students have picked up on the growing trend which was spawned in Europe last summer.

Urban Iditarod Races Through City Streets

A melee erupted in the streets of San Francisco when over 400 caninus homo erecti (humans imitating dogs) took to the streets, some at breakneck speeds, others collared, leashed and heeling nicely with their owners in control, but all howling, mushing their sleds ... err ... shopping carts in the 11th Annual Urban Iditarod.

Students and Faculty Mourn Spanish Professor

Flowers and candles adorned a memorial tribute on Wednesday to Dr. Gladys P. Blacut, a Spanish lecturer with a 20-year history at SF State. Nearly 50 people gathered to remember Blacut, who died on Feb. 11 at age 67.
