Bush signs financial aid legislation

Days after the shooting rampage at Virginia Tech, an evacuation drill took place Thursday afternoon in which all five dormitories at SF State were cleared. CSU, Union Talk Possible Settlement

The contract between Cal State University and the union representing 23,000 faculty members has been extended through April 6, as both sides return to the bargaining table in an effort to prevent a possible strike. Departments to Set New Tenure Standards
The process of awarding faculty members with lifetime employment is about to change.
Academic Senate approved a revised Retention Tenure and Promotions Policy (RTP) that allows individual departments to set up standards for determining the approval of faculty tenure. Previously, these decisions were based on university-wide guidelines.

Math BA Changes Approved
Academic Senate members unanimously approved the first significant changes to the mathematics Bachelor of Arts degree program in more than 30 years. Under the new system, which will take effect over the next four to six years, math majors may now choose from one of three different disciplines reflecting different career goals: a 42-unit liberal arts track, a 45-unit teaching track and a 48-unit advanced study track.
