Smokeout Encourages 'Culture of Consideration'
SF State smokers were encouraged by student and faculty volunteers to snuff out their cigarettes and give up their addiction for the entire 24 hours of Nov.16, as part of the Great American Smokeout, a national event aimed at helping smokers start to quit.

A Taste of the Bay

The SF State Hospitality Management department held its annual fundraiser, Taste of the Bay, at the St. Francis Yacht Club with a goal of raising $50,000 for program development and student scholarships. Four students worked tirelessly to organize a fundraiser of professional scale, and reaped the financial and personal benefits of their efforts.

Block Partiers Flood Clarion Alley
More than 2,000 people descended on the Mission Sunday for the ninth Clarion Alley Block Party, an event organized by neighborhood residents to celebrate art, local music, and community spirit. Hipsters, cyclists, and skateboarders from various San Francisco subcultures flooded the alley, which stretches from Valencia Street to Mission Street between 17th and 18th streets.
